Canadian Customers Buying at Archie Cochrane Ford in Billings,MT

To all of our Canadian Friends that are inquiring on purchasing a new or pre-owned vehicle in the states, the answer is "yes", I can do it. I've been talking to several of you that for some reason have all heard the same story over and over again. For some reason, the Canadian dealers are trying to scare you into not purchasing a vehicle in the States. I have to tell ya, they are right in a lot of aspects but it's only because the dealer that you are talking about doesn't know how to do it.

Here's a little about what you should know.

1. New vehicles from Ford are admissible from us as as long as they have the imobilization device installed. Basically, it's just the key coded key. I'll go into the date of manufacture when you call me.

2. New vehicles such as the S.U.V.'s are subject to your Green Levy taxes. Congrat's, your gov't has taken a lesson from our, or maybe it's the other way around... We call it the gas guzzler's tax. Depending on the vehicle you want, I'll tell you how much it it. You can also find it at http://riv.ca/ REMEMBER this is only on new vehicles! If you are buying a new truck or car, it won't apply. If you want to be safe, just call me and I'll check for you. Pre-owned vehicles are not subject to this freebee for the govt.

3. You'll need an OASIS pulled. An OASIS basically just guarantees that your vehicle is free from recalls. Show me a truck you are interested in, and I'll send it to you. (ALL I NEED IS YOUR VIN)...

4. You'll need a vin release done on our letterhead that passes the border's criteria. Again, I have a template that works.... It was written by a border agent..

5. I need to make sure your headlight's are set to daytime running in order for you to get it through the border.

6. You need to give them 72 hours to process the paperwork.

7. You'll need to pay a fee of around $200 to get the vehicle into your country. It's listed on the http://riv.ca/ website. There's also about another $100 you'll be responsible for since the vehicle has A/C.

8. You'll need your GST number when you get to the border on your end. You'll be responsible for paying your tax.

9. There are a few other forms that we'll take care of for you! Don't worry, it's easy and we can even have the vehicle delivered to the border for you. It' won't cost that much...Consider the savings!

10. We will need to have the title or the MSO so you can show them to the border when you come through.

I WILL HAVE OUR TITLE CLERK SEND ALL OF THE PAPERS TO THE BORDER BEFORE YOU EVEN ARRIVE. YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRANSACTION. WE DO IT RIGHT!

WORDS OF ADVICE!

DO NOT BUY FROM A PRIVATE PARTY! They can not provide you with the OASIS report or the vin release like a dealer can. Also, you won't have the opportunity to extend the manufacturers warranty on the vehicle for extra coverage. Our Extended Warranty coverage programs are all good in Canada. Your manufacturer's warranty is good in Canada folks! Regardless of what your local dealer tells you. Get the number for Ford Motor Company in Canada and call them if your dealer tells you it isn't. If they flat out don't want to cover you or do any kind of warranty work, then do you really want to buy from them in the first place? We honor all the manufacturer's warranty from Canada. If you break down in Billings, we take care of you. Should'nt be any different in Canada.

I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

VISIT OUR SITE AT http://billingsford.com/ and tell me what you want. I'll explain everything to you soon.

You can call me directly if you want as well!
